needless to say, i grew out of them. i'm thinking i gave them to a friend i was close to at the time, a boy who had small feet. i don't think he ever wore them. i wish i didn't have such a giving heart, i wish i still had those moccasins. not that they would fit me. but just to have them.
i've been longing for a pair of moccasins just like my old ones for several years now.
and guess what? just like plaid shirts and vintage clothes, these same dear moccasins are very popular among what i call, the really thrifty, vintagy, awesomely dressed people. or anyone who has sense of what is cool and popular to wear.
this sort of irks me. no, it really irks me.
i don't remember if my old ones were minnetonka, but from my memory, these minnetonka moccasins look exactly like what i used to have, and you can ever have the option of a soft or hard sole.
if it wasn't for the fact that i bought a cello and am still paying it off, or that i plan on taking some exciting trips this year, i would indeed have a pair of minnetonka ankle fringe moccasins.
i remember last spring, i really wanted a pair of cowboy boots.like the moccasins, i used to have a black pair when i was little. so, knowing that the cost of a good pair of boots was way out of my budget, i prayed about finding a pair, cheap. mom prayed about finding both of us a pair, cheap.
alas, i found, hardly worn vintage, Tony Lama boots at the thrift store. 2$. i was ecstatic.
especially when i looked up those exact boots to to find out the real cost was somewhere around 200$.
whats to say i won't find moccasins on my next visit to the thrift store?
That would be pretty sweet :D
